The Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), in association with Reyada Medical Centre, successfully conducted the third annual Red Drop and Free Medical Check-up Camp on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Open to all, the camp received an encouraging response, with more than 100 people taking part. A total of 48 units of blood were donated to the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Blood Bank, adding a meaningful contribution to the blood bank’s ongoing requirements.

A brief formal programme was held during the camp, with Dr. Ranjan Mathias, Consultant Intensivist in Critical Care at Al Wakra Hospital, as the guest of honour. Speaking to the gathering, Dr. Mathias highlighted the importance of blood donation and its role in saving lives. He also addressed common misconceptions about donating blood and encouraged more people to come forward and donate regularly.

Jamsheer Hamza, Managing Director of Reyada Medical Centre, appreciated MCA for continuing the initiative for the third consecutive year. He also commended the efforts of the organisers and volunteers in bringing people together for a cause that directly benefits those in need.

The event was attended by MCA President Gladson D’Almeida, Advisory Chairman Aloysius D’Souza, Advisory Members Harry Lobo, Arthur Pais and Veena Pais, MCC President Denzil Christine Lobo, KSQ President Subramanya Hebbagelu, Tulukoota President Vijay Kumbra, and TKQ Vice President Pravina Shetty, along with office-bearers and representatives of various Karnataka-based associations in Qatar.

The successful third edition of the Red Drop and Free Medical Check-up Camp was made possible by the generous participation of blood donors, those who availed themselves of the health check-up, the support of Reyada Medical Centre and HMC Blood Bank, and the dedicated efforts of MCA volunteers.
